Ukraine in the spring of 2022 sowed 87.8% of the planned land

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of May 26, 2022, the area under sunflower cultivation is 4.27 million hectares (87% of the 4.93 million hectares planned for 2022), corn - 4.41 million hectares (91% of planned 4.85 million hectares), spring barley - 928.4 thousand hectares (91% of the planned 1.02 million hectares), spring wheat - 189.3 thousand hectares (99.7% of the planned 189.6 thousand hectares). ha), oats - 156.9 thousand ha (96% of the planned 163.6 thousand ha), peas - 125.9 thousand ha (86% of the planned 145.7 thousand ha). The sown area under potatoes is 1.11 million hectares (93% of the planned 1.19 million hectares), soybeans - 1.15 thousand hectares (92% of the planned 1.25 million hectares), sugar beet - 182.1 thousand hectares. hectares (88% of the planned 206.9 thousand hectares), spring rapeseed - 31.7 thousand hectares (the plan was 100% fulfilled), millet - 41.3 thousand hectares (66% of the planned 62.3 thousand hectares ), buckwheat - 57.7 thousand hectares (70% of the planned 81.6 thousand hectares). The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food also clarified that the area already sown during the sowing campaign in 2022 amounted to 78% of the figures for the previous year, in which 16.92 million hectares were sown. The ministry also recalled that in 2021, winter crops were sown for the 2022 harvest on a total area of ​​7.7 million hectares, including 6.5 million hectares of winter wheat, 1 million hectares of barley and 0.16 million hectares of rye. Earlier it was reported that due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, this season is expected to reduce the area under crops of highly profitable crops such as sunflower and corn. But the areas under crops, relatively easy to produce, peas, barley and oats are comparatively increasing.
